Chapter I
Prologue

There are days when the past and present reach for each other. For their wedding, Jiamin and Anthony chose a place that embodies precisely that: the Palais Niederösterreich in Vienna's first district, a baroque jewel whose halls are steeped in history. Yet on this summer day, the venerable walls became the setting for a love story that united two cultures, two families, and two hearts.

While Vienna rested outside in its timeless elegance, Jiamin and Anthony prepared in separate rooms for the most significant moment of their lives. The air was filled with a quiet anticipation, that particular magic that exists only on the morning of a wedding — when everything still lies ahead and yet already feels within reach.

Chapter II
The Preparation

Jiamin's getting ready was marked by a calm that only the brink of something life-changing can bring. Her gown — a flawless creation of the finest lace — hung like a promise by the window. The Jimmy Choo shoes, delicately adorned with crystals, waited patiently to write their story on the marble floors of the Palais. Every detail had been chosen with intention, from the delicate bouquet of white roses and eucalyptus to the engagement ring that sparkled in the morning light.

Meanwhile, Anthony was getting ready with his groomsmen — a group of friends attempting to mask their nerves with humour. The atmosphere was exuberant, almost childlike in its ease, and yet in Anthony's gaze lay an earnestness known only to someone about to pledge their life to another.

Chapter III
The First Look at Minoritenplatz

There are places in Vienna that seem made for intimacy — and Minoritenplatz is one of them. Surrounded by baroque architecture and shielded from public view, this is where the first look took place. Jiamin and Anthony stood back to back, separated by a moment of suspense, united by the certainty that everything was about to change.

When Anthony turned and saw Jiamin in her wedding gown for the first time, the world held its breath. No words, only gazes. The vows they read to each other here — away from the larger ceremony — carried an honesty only two people who truly know each other can share. It was a private pact, before the world would become part of their story.

In the stillness between two heartbeats lies eternity.

Chapter IV
The Ceremony at the Palais

Back at the Palais Niederösterreich, the outdoor ceremony was already set. An aisle of white blossoms led to an altar beneath the open sky — framed by the magnificent facade of the Palais. Guests sat in expectant silence as Jiamin, accompanied by classical music, walked down the aisle. Anthony, waiting at its end, was visibly moved.

The ceremony itself was a fusion of Western and Eastern traditions. As the celebrant spoke the words that join two lives, subtle details — from the Chinese calligraphy on the programmes to the symbolic gestures — carried Jiamin's heritage within them. When they exchanged their vows, the guests applauded not just a union, but a bridge between two worlds.

Chapter V
The Celebration and the Finale in Red

After the ceremony, the path led directly into the agape — an elegant reception in the interior rooms of the Palais. Here, beneath lofty ceilings and gilded mirrors, guests mingled, champagne flowed, and conversation was filled with that relaxed cheerfulness that only follows a moving ceremony. Jiamin and Anthony used the brief interlude for an intimate couple shoot — just the two of them, the late-afternoon light, and the camera.

The reception was classic yet surprising. The tables were decorated with minimalist elegance, white candles and delicate floral arrangements dominating the scene. But as night fell, the celebration transformed. Jiamin and Anthony appeared in traditional Chinese attire — she in a luminous red gown, he in an embroidered dark jacket. A violinist, blending Chinese melodies with Western harmonies, created a moment that made every guest pause.

The party that followed was ecstatic. Light trails swept across the dance floor, laughter echoed through the halls, and a sense of timelessness lingered long past midnight. Jiamin and Anthony danced as though there were no tomorrow — and perhaps that was the point. On this day, there was only the now.
